My top two of all time has to be Quake Trent Reznor made that game even much more than it already was. And Mass Effect, The main theme brought that game universe to life.

It's true that a lot of your big AAA games go for music, usually either licensed in an attempt to sound current (boring), or orchestral in an attempt to be epic (even worse), but a lot of your current indie games understand that appropriate music can make or break a game. Specifically, try out Hotline Miami. It's just a few dollars on Steam, and it's so amazing!the soundtracks out lately are just a lot of noise and dont add to the ambiance of the game, but rather just sound like a music track.

Jill of the Jungle (especially the track "Seven" - only game music I know of in 7/4)
