MSI RMA

Wed Jul 11, 2012 11:58 pm

I have been patiently waiting on my RMAed video card, and was curious how long MSI has kept anyone else waiting? Am i in for a long haul or are they quick about getting it back to you? Every day I check my status, and every day its still in processing...been a week so far.

I dont think I ever RMA'd a MSI product before, but most of my RMAs are around 21 business to process and get back to me, if I had to average it out. Some turn around in two weeks, some in a month.
All I ever cared about is making sure it was approved. I figure sometimes they are looking for the replacement, and considering sending something better if they dont have it.

You always hear stories of people getting back bigger drives, faster video cards, better boards, bigger sticks of ram, etc..

I usually note in the RMA up front if that works for me, by saying that a bigger drive is fine since it is not in a RAID array, full size ATX is fine if they dont have a Matx, etc....

Well looks like my card is on its way back..almost took exactly a month. Guess i get to see what I win on the RMA lottery...will it be my old card repaired, a refurb, or a brand new card. I should find out this weds.

Well as of today my RMA vid card has died again, the replacement RMA card barely lasted over 6 months. I was none too happy with MSI and I said so in their RMA form. I wonder if the power of tech report will make this one turn out better. I have more or less decided to never buy another MSI card again unless they really take care of my issues. The thing that annoyed me the most about my previous RMA was the card they sent me was banged up and dirty, and had to clean it up and blow all the dust out of it, i understand it was a refurb, but do they even look at the cards going out carrying their name?

Well after waiting almost a month, and not getting my email with my RMA stuffs, I ended up talking to their customer service department. After a few questions over a few days they finally approved my RMA and I sent my dead card in. This time instead of getting a dirty used card back, I received a brand new one, never used. So I am happy finally my RMA ended up good, although I had already bought a new video card upgrade in the interim. A big thumbs up for MSI finally making my RMA right and taking care of a customer.
