Windows Start up sounds

Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:54 pm

I'm looking for some unique start up sounds. I used to use a cool lightning sound that I got with a sound card years ago. I have been looking around for the Mass Relay sound from the Mass Effect series. No luck so far. Any idea where I might find this or something else that would be cool to use?

Sometimes I use this:

It's from an old game called "Space Spartans" that was made for the Mattel Intellivision in the early '80s, one of the very first video games with voice synthesis.

I'm a big Military fan but I just can't get behind a jet engine/turbine in a tank. Especially one that's a big a fuel hog like this one. I always wondered why they gave up on Diesel engines and went to a turbine. I know its more power for the weight but the fuel consumption is a big draw back in my opinion.

Back on topic, any one know where I can some Mr. Scott sound bites? Thinking I might go with a Star Trek theme but I can't find what I'm looking for.

Reminds me of when my brother put the whole "Developers Developers Developers" song with Steve Balmer as my XP startup noise with the sound cranked to max. That was quite a shock especially how it went on for like 2 1/2 minutes!
