Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 4 on single GTX480?

Wed Mar 13, 2013 8:31 am

I pre-ordered Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 4 (PC-DVD versions) from Amazon.

Both games are being released on Dec.31,2013. Will my single GTX480 be up to the task of handling max settings at 1920x 1200?

(I'm running a AMD FX-8150 at stock clocks and a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 1200 PSU.)

No idea about Watch Dogs, who can possibly say at this point, we've only seen videos. I suspect you'll be okay. You probably won't be able to max-out the settings, but I would hazard a guess that it'll run fine on medium settings, maybe even some high settings.

Assassin's Creed 4 will highly likely use exactly the same engine as the first 3, so if those ran fine, it's a pretty sure bet this one will run exactly the same.

Release dates like that are usually just placeholders for "we don't know when this game is coming out". I doubt either game will come out on that day.

I'd wager your FX will be as much or more of a bottleneck as your GF100. \( ̄□ ̄)\
