Nahh... more like 2.5 months (June launch). It'll be here and be yesterday's obsolete chip before you know it!

Edit: w00t! I'm now Gerbil XP. I'll never upgrade to Vista no matter how many posts I make!

You'd have to post three messages a day to reach "Gerbil Elite" before Haswell arrives.

JAE has thrown down the gauntlet! I doubt I'll make it, but I'll probably have a few more posts between now & then.

Most disappointing is the amount of artificial segmentation yet again. Really Intel? Can't you release a non-crippled product for once?

Still, I imagine It will be an overclockers dream come true if they did indeed fix the TIM and take the uncore off of base clock freq.

However, that raises the question of why you even need a K-series processor in the first place. Heh, it's still just rumors though.

I'm still wondering why they're not selling a full-GPU version for desktop users. HTPC/NUC/Apple users among others might like to have some decent graphics backed up by Intel CPU cores.

That point still stands, really. AMD literally has nothing to compete with in the CPU space other than better integrated graphics, and that advantage is being minimized with Haswell. Unless by some miracle they manage to pull a rabbit out of their hat with Kaveri later this year, I expect the downward spiral to continue. They might have something to offer with Kabini/Temash, but that's competing with Atom which is due for a massive upgrade soon. Consoles and ARM are their only hope. I don't think they'll go bankrupt since they seem to be good at cutting costs as needed, but they could just fade into obscurity like VIA, only offering products for tiny niche markets that value function and affordability over performance.

A i7-3770k is more often then not 2x slower in gaming compared to a a10-5800k, so the i7-4770k wont even be able to match a 32nm Trinity
What chances will it have against GCN at 28nm in Kavery HSA design? (specially if we see GDDR5 flavors)

So I see the reverse happening, AMD this year will grow their lead full spectrum.

Intel was able to enjyoy a massive 22nm vs 32nm advantage (that they focus on the CPU side, leaving the GPU atrophied) , but this advantage is limited now that AMD is moving to 28nm.
It will take 14nm for Intel for have a chance to boost GPU compute past AMD.

Now GCN at 28nm for kabini, with a design so close to the Ps4 will most likely show 2x to 3x the performance for mobile gaming over anything Intel can deliver.
With Temash and Kabini , I have no idea who would even consider anything Atom based.

If MS release next gen surface pro based on their xbox 720 (jaguar + GCN), the lead in AMD APU graphics will be total.

AMD will do just fine. But I do see Intel having to fight much harder to keep their market share intact. Thankfully 14nm is around the corner, without it Intel could have a very nasty 2014.

I think you are overestimating how many desktop users care about integrated graphics. AMD is losing their big IGP lead in the mobile segment, where it matters.

Really? I would say that both the 3770K and especially the 4770K destroy the A10 at graphics... at least that's what happens when I put my 2 year old mid-range GTX 560 into those systems and compare them to the IGP in Trinity.
