Why am I hearing about this now??

Thu Mar 21, 2013 11:40 am

I just heard about Tron Uprising, and now it may be getting cancelled :(

I haven't had a chance to watch it, but I'm now trying to find the episodes... I've only heard good things about it. Anyway, if you want to get in on the petition to save the show:

I wish they had this when Firefly and Dark Angel were cancelled...

too bad they are cancelling it...it is one of my favorite shows but i think i know why. it is billed as a kid-friendly show and i think that limits how they can tell their stories. i thought the artwork was absolutely stunning, but the story line was a little too kid-friendly at times. i know it was running on disney kids so they had to cater to their audience, but the tron universe has some pretty dark themes that they couldn't really explore in detail. hope if it does come back another network picks it up so they can have more freedom to really explore the grid.

It's a toon, but I heard about from Daniel Simon, the designer for the vehicles in Tron Legacy... He said it was more adult oriented, than kid-friendly, which may be why Disney is thinking about cancelling it :(

Umm, it's gone. Not "might be cancelled", but "was cancelled". Disney is playing games with refusing to officially announce the cancellation, but if you look at the total lack of advertising and viewers, and the utter death timeslot it finished season 1 in (Mondays at 12AM *MIDNIGHT*)... The writing is on the wall. It's a kids show that's aired at midnight, and DIsney hasn't scheduled any reruns. It's done.

Disney did an absolutely abysmal job of advertising this, just like John Carter got sunk by lousy ad work.
Please don't edit my signature for me. Thanks.

Captain John Sheridan.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.
