Mysterious Controller

Tue Mar 26, 2013 9:39 am

I've had a couple games now detect a joypad/controller present now when there isn't one. It's not showing up under connected devices. Does anyone have an idea as how to potentially track this down? I wouldn't care, but it's screwing up my ability to play one of the games (Mass Effect).

Do you maybe have a mouse or keyboard with special functions that might show up this way?

Hmm, maybe something that can be turned off in the BIOS?

I installed some joypad > keyboard mapping software once and it left a service running in the background for a virtual joypad.

Uninstall GFWL as well, if you have it. That thing is a mucking fess, especially if you've ever plugged a 360 pad into your PC.

Ehh? What are you talking about? Games for Windows Live is simply a library that runs behind supported games. The only client software for it is the GFW Marketplace, which has nothing to do with controllers. (;; ̄Д ̄)ノ
