Massive skyscraper fire (work safe)

Wed Apr 03, 2013 10:12 pm

Quite spectacular fire in the largest skyscraper (outside of Moscow) in Russian federation, in the city of Grozny:

You can see the details of burned-up cheap plastic decorative tiles on some photos. I guess Putin didn't give enough $$$ to Chechnya in order to use more expensive fireproof materials

Yea, well, there are still plenty of fanatics about whole 911 thing... Only takes a few "truthers" to post links to their nonsense sites to start a flame war. Just ignore them.

But 9/11 was done by the US government to drum up support for an unlawful war, right? (゚、 。`フ

The R&P stops here and you two need to remember that R&P stays in R&P.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Didn't intend it to sound so harsh, but rapid escalation of 'Porch topics into R&P topics is one of those things we keep a sharp eye on.

I agree, and I was not trying to steer it this way... Was just a reply about dumb comments...

I found it amazing how small the firefighters were against the blaze they were fighting, especially the shot of the guy on the ladder.

But you were calling out and labeling a supposedly identifiable group as "fanatics". This is the type of behavior that leads to people getting offended, etc, and is at the core of the no R&P rule. Just sayin'.

Pretty mind-boggling that they would permit any sort of flammable material to be used on the exterior of a commercial high-rise. Granted, without a functional water supply it was going to burn out anyway, but but watching the fire eat those panels like candy is a little...odd.

You know, you'd think a skyscraper being on fire would be the definition of not safe for work.

I mean, working in a burning skyscraper is pretty unsafe.

Sorry, the pun had to be made.
