hey everyone!

in the following days i want to build my first gaming pc. my budged is only 1100$ i want to hear as many sugestions as You have. this is what i was thinking:

mobo asus sabertooth 990fx
cpu amd fx 8350
gpu sapphire radeon hd 7870 xt 2gb gddr5
ssd kingstone 60 gb only for operating system (windows8)
western digital caviar black 7200 1tb for games and other stuff
cpu cooler nocturna nhl-12
ram : corsair value kit 2x8gb
psu: gygabyte superb 720w

what do You think guys? should i change anything?(i can change everything but the mobo and cpu)

60 GB is not enough for Windows 8 on SSD. 120 minimum.

if you were going intel I'd say use it as smart response but you are going AMD.

1) Reference this thread and the TR system guide.
2) 120GB minimum for SSD so you can fit some games. Samsung 840 is inexpensive and reliable.
3) Use a power supply calculator to determine your wattage needs.
4) I would recommend a tower-style HSF like the CM Hyper 212 Evo
5) What county are you in?
6) That's a pretty expensive mobo. Any specific reasons you need that model?
7) Case?

If you do a bit of hunting and using bundles discounts, you should be able to get all this for about $900, delivered:

• Good case and PSU (like an Antec 300 and 430W Earthwatts in a combo)
• i5 3570K
• Intel Z77 motherboard
• 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 (2x8GB)
• A Radeon HD7850
• A decent 120-128GB SSD
• A 2TB hard drive
• DVD burner.

The 7850 saves you quite a bit of money over a 7870 and will still be fast enough for 1080p gaming which seems to be the norm these days.
You'll need an OS license if you don't already have one, and I'm assuming your budget beforehand didn't include a screen/keyboard/mouse.
You're welcome to stick with an AMD processor but they're hotter, more expensive to run, require beefier power supplies and are (in many situations, notably gaming) slower than equivalent-cost i5's.
16GB isn't necessary, but RAM isn't exactly expensive these days. Likewise with the 2TB hard drive, it's better value than the 1TB.

i want to put only the OS on the SSD card but that Samsung You sugested is a lot better.You are right.maybe i will put a game or 2 there

i allready used a calculator and it says i need 623W and this is why i want that 720w psu.

thanks for this sugestion. that cooler was 1 of my options at the begining but then another guy told me that the oder 1 was better so i want to know why should i choose the CM Hyper 212 evo?

i allready have a huge case and i dont see why to buy another 1

i want that mobo cuz it has a small pricep in my country and it has 5 year waranity, a damn good cooling solution and a great performance if i will overlclock (and i will definetly OC)

Newegg has the Corsair Carbide 500R for $90 after MIR. I just built my gaming rig with that case and I can fully vouch for it. You can find my build pics here. The case was very easy to use and is a steal at $90. I got it for $115 and I thought that was a pretty great deal.

As I always do, I'd recommend you spend a few extra dollars and get a modular power supply. This Seasonic should do the job and its on sale for $80. The 500R has a decent amount of extra room for unused cables, but there really isn't anything like a nice clean and neat interior. If you look at my pics, I only had to use 3 power cables in my build. If I had a non-modular power supply I'd have had to cram the extra cables into the area where the extra hard drive tray used to be. Not a great solution. Also, why do you think you need over 600 watts of power? That calculator must be off, or those AMD chips must really need a lot of juice. My gaming rig only uses about 350 watts under load with the only big difference being the different processor and Mobo.

I also used a 7850 in my build and I love it. Its a solid card and a great value, especially with the two free games. I don't know if the 7870 is worth the extra price, especially when the 7850 overclocks so easily.

As others have said, that mobo and cpu combo are not ideal based on value or performance. Unless you really want to support AMD (and you are already doing that by buying a 7850 or 7870), you should definitely go with a Core i5 3570k and Z77 motherboard. That combo will run you less than $300 if you live near a Microcenter and only $350 at Newegg. I like the Asrock Extreme 4 or 4M, though the Pro4 or Pro4-M will be cheaper by $50-60.

For a CPU cooler, there really isn't another one to recommend other than the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I can't even find the cooler you listed, typo maybe? The Hyper 212 EVO is on sale at Newegg for $25 at MIR.

For RAM, 16gb is currently overkill, but it may not be in the future. I decided to go with 16gb and am very happy with my choice. Crucial 16gb Ballistix Sport kit are on sale for $99 at Microcenter and $105 at Newegg.

Since money is a factor, go for a Samsung 840 SSD. I you can stretch, get the 250gb model since you will appreciate the extra space and slightly better performance over the 120gb model. Plus, it will last longer.

ALSO – Nevermind my links to Newegg or the prices I listed. I see you are in Romania, so I don’t know where you get your parts or how much they will cost. The recommendations remain though.

Tower style (not blowing down on the mobo) heatsinks will push their hot air toward the back (or top) of the case. The heat typically gets picked up by the rear or top case fan and out of the case quickly. This trait makes tower-style heatsinks more efficient than down-blowing heatsinks. The Hyper 212 EVO recommendation was just because it's a VERY good performing, cheap, popular, and quiet heatsink. Don't feel obligated to get it, but customer reviews don't lie.

The reason I asked is that it would be helpful for you to provide us with some websites or stores in Romania that you might shop at. That way we can check prices and availability and not waste our time recommending hardware that isn't available (or is overly expensive compared to alternatives).

Gigabyte PSU? I predict that lots of people are going to have problems with that. Knowing what brands are available there will help us (maybe) find a better alternative.

I would suggest you don't get the saber tooth I have it and I don't see any difference from the lower priced Asus models save your money!

actually the cpu and mobo combination is the most recomanded of all.

Someone recommended a 7850 here. Would be good for you to check that. Cooler Master Hyper TX3 cooler might be nice for you. I got a bigger Hyper 212 Evo and the installation was a bit tricky. At least for my butterfingers. TX3 should install without the backplate in the same way as the stock cooler.

I was recommended here to get as big SSD as possible and got 240Gb Kingston Hyper 3k. I have to say I love it. I have OS and some games there and I have now about 100Gb left. Games load very fast.
