I haven't looked into mods, but the max resolution of 1024x768 really hurts Freespace 2's replayability. Actually, now that I think of it, I should look into mods...

yogibbear wrote:Perfectly playable as much as any space sim with a mouse. It's basically an FPS with full 3-D range of motion and an accellerator. There's too many buttons for any sensible joystick anyway, so even if you have a joystick with 20+ easy buttons to reach, you'll still be reaching across to your keyboard occasionally for squad commands.
exploration lacked tangible rewards, while I'd find new star systems I wasn't really finding anything "cool" ships that didn't exist anywhere else
