outlook 2013

Mon Apr 22, 2013 1:15 pm

Hey guys,

I'm at odds with my outlook 2013 right now. It won't let me use my Hotmail account with it, I continually get prompted with a dialogue box requesting my server, email and password so I removed the account and upon trying to add it again now I get prompted with a windows security dialogue box asking for email and password, I put that info in and click ok and the dialogue box reopens with the same 2 fields but the password is goofed and is twice as long as what I put in. I correct it and resubmit to no avail, if I click remember password, doesn't matter.

Do you have 2-factor authenticated enabled? You might need to log into the website to set that up. I know they're starting to enforce that.

The password at about twice the lenghth is a security feature... likely it is asterisks at the max lenghth.

Wait your are saying that 2 factor is a made up password or the reason I'm seeing a long password is 2 factor??? That being said if my password is 23456789, would it then show as 23456789****? At any rate my password for every flipping account I have is only 8 characters long, why would I have another password that I never chose?

Try: https://account.live.com/proofs/Manage?mkt=en-us
It's in the "security info" section of the settings.
