Just stumbled across this deal on newegg. The Dell U2410 is on sale for $380 - $50 (promo code HNJWGQZ40) = $330. That's a pretty good deal for a 24" 8-bit IPS monitor. The best prices for these monitors back in January was $400+tax.

You might be interested in one of the two 27" IPS monitors (2560x1440) offered by Monoprice. Both use the same LG panels as the Apple Cinema Display, and I think the 27" Dell Ultrasharp, too. Seeing as they're both comparable in price to the 24" Ultrasharp (1920x1200), it might be worth looking into.

Do they have at least some form of aspect ratio control? It is usually lacking in non Dell models.

No doubt the 27" Korean IPS monitors offer great value, but as Flying Fox alluded to, they offer very little in terms of adjustability. You're more likely to buy a U2410 for the Dell Factory Calibrated Color Presets for Adobe RGB and sRGB, especially since 6-bit eIPS panels (24" for <$180) can do 98% sRGB, have the same benefit of IPS viewing angles, and generally have faster response times than 8-bit panels.

Not all Dell models have AR controls either. For instance, the U2412M is missing 1:1 pixel map setting.

To me 1:1 is less priority than 4:3 and 16:10(9). The HP models tend to not have any AR at all so that is why I asked.

My hp ZR2440w has 1:1, fill to 4:3, fill to 16:9, fill to aspect ratio and overscan options in its 'Custom Scaling' menu. It's also smart enough to remember different settings even on the same input depending on whether it's getting a HD or SD signal (for instance I use the HDMI-in for my DVR, and it's set to 'fill to 4:3' when receiving SD channels and 'fill to aspect ratio' when receiving a HD signal).

Good to know, their older models did not have that IIRC. The Ultrasharps pretty much have them since the beginning (at least my Aspect Scaling/Fill to Fixed ratio feature).
