If you are running a z68 or p67 i would go with the 2600k since they overclock a few hundred MHZ more then the 3770k and run alot cooler. If you are using a z77 board i would go 3770k.
Starmicron has 2600k has cpus for 258$

What he said. Assuming you are overclocking, that is. I assume you are if you want a "K" SKU.

DeadOfKnight The OP did not specify if he was upgrading his cpu or building a whole 1155 system. Plus why would you build a 1155 system if you can build a 1150 haswell setup for the same price. So the Original Poster has to give us all the details of why he asked what is better or we cannot give him the correct answer:)
Also Deadofknight you must still be happy with your 875k lynnfield CPU. What kind of overclock are you running and cooling?
Also you can call it snake oil if you want to but if you are running windows 7... I highly rec you disable core parking! On the benchmarks i could find about having core parking on vs off the Lynnfield i7 CPU's had the greatest increase in performance
I do not care what anyone says it made my 2600k system much smoother, removed a stuttering problem i had with BF3. Plus I believe it helps with SLI setups, lately my 560ti's have been working so well with everything i have thrown at them including my latest game Crysis 3. Well i am off to look for any texture mods or configuration programs for crysis 3 now. Seems like I am capped at 100 FPS
