Or is that all over. I was hoping that they'd give a discount on Battlefield 4 pre-order or another big game like that. They did do Just Cause 2 for $3 which was pretty sweet.

As far as I know there are usually only 2 big Steam sales a year, one in the summer and one for the holidays. There will still be some games on sale here and there, but nothing like the summer sale where hundreds of games were all on sale. Check out http://isthereanydeal.com/ if you are looking for good deals on games. It aggregates all the major PC game seller's sales, and even has price history graphs to show how cheap a game has been in the past.

As for Battlefield 4, that's an EA game so that won't ever be on Steam (all new EA games use Origin). Greenmangaming or Amazon may have "deals" on a pre-order before it comes out but I wouldn't expect anything cheaper than $50 (and they are still going to introduce premium later for an additional $50)

There is the Summer sale, Winter sale and Thanksgiving (US). I think there was also a Spring sale this year.

It looks like they are seasonal.

Don't hold your breath for a discount on BF4 or BF4 being on Steam. It will be an Origin exclusive and priced as high as they can manage to sell it.
