Viewing composite video on a PC

Postposted on Wed Aug 21, 2013 3:09 pm

Hi!
I need to display video from an analog source on a PC. The only output it has is composite video. It also has to be full screen and run 24/7. Can someone recommend a card for such usage? It doesn't need to be fancy just reliable.

You can use an EZCap USB adapter. That's your cheapest option at around $10. I've used more expensive options (HD PVR 2 $150) with composite and the results were not really any better.

look at the Hauppage tuners. quite a few of them can do this.

Here is a simple one for $20 from some small name:

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm gonna go with an internal card from Hauppauge as the other suggestions have too many negative ratings. Is the software that comes with them any good or would I have to get it from a third party? Does anybody know if it will display 4:3 video properly on a widescreen monitor or will it stretch it?
