I won't even ask about wages in the sector, bumped into a friend cppl years back and he was the last person I asked in a casual manner "hey, haven't seen you in years, how are things going?".... his answer was "going through various stages of bankruptcy." and he was serious despite the implied comedy of the response.

Fortunately I never put myself in a position to have a job loss trigger a financial cascade effect that lead to bankruptcy.
