Zotac X58 CPU support

Postposted on Sat Oct 12, 2013 8:55 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know what the CPU support on the Zotac x58 is? The official tested cpu's are only the 920, 940, 960 and 960 Extreme. I plan to run either an 4 core or 6 core Xeon for Premiere and After Effects duty on it. Does anyone have any experience running an CPU not on the supported list? Thanks :)

The ZOTAC X58SLI-A-E? It seems to be their only X58 board. This (PDF) implies it supports any LGA 1366 CPU, but there don't seem to be any other results. Worst case scenario, it simply doesn't work and you have to return the CPU. Make sure you have that option before you purchase.

I would think ebay would lack the ability for returns. Guess I'll go with craigslist then

Thanks :)

Actually, many eBay sellers do take returns. It never hurts to ask!
