Internet Explorer 11 update fubar'd my w7 user profile.

Wed Dec 04, 2013 5:11 pm

Hey guys, dunno if anyone else experienced this, but the IE11 update screwed up my user profile. Immediately after the update/reboot, I was thrown into a temp profile with none of my applied settings.

I ended up uninstalling IE11 to fix it, but I would be interested if anyone has advice on getting it to work.

Also, IE11 brings the stupid w8 gui to w7, which might be causing some sort of incompatibility with w7. Thinking about just ignoring this update.

I don't use IE, but it installed without issue on the 7 (ha!) Windows 7 systems I'm currently running.

My work laptop runs Windows 7. I haven't put IE11 on it, but other applications like the Office 2013 ones and Visual Studio 2012 also bring "the stupid w8 gui" to w7. They have worked without issue for me.
