It's 64 F here right now (12:40 PM); yesterday reached a balmy 74 F. My crazy 13 year old just said he'd rather be there, but he likes snow, too. You guys have my warmest sympathies. :)

That's pretty freaking cold. That has to be pretty far north based on that sunrise time. (Like Oslo, Norway north)

Latitude of 52 N, not quite Oslo.

I WAS PROMISED GLOBAL WARMING!!!

Using your "metric" temperature system it's a balmy -6 right now down here in the tropical U.S., although it was -14 earlier this morning.

Yikes - screw that noise. I'll try to remember not to complain quite so much about the hot summers around here.

It was a balmy -9 C last night on Vancouver Island. A bit early for this much cold. More snow and it's easier on the animals. Bird feeding time, and I'll need a bag of goat food for the deer.

Heh, we can get up to 41 C (106 F) here in the summer. Record low is -50C (-58 F) / -61C (-80F) with windchill. Not to many places that can have 90 C shift in temperature.

When I was a kid in Whitehorse in the Yukon we would go out at 50F below, about -46C or so, and pour out a pitcher of water. Ice hit the ground. That was about where they stopped our outside play.

People who come to the UK complain that it's wet and cold.

Thank **** for the gulfstream. Temperatures below -10C are almost unheard of and in the hottest summers on record, we get like 35C at most.

We need to stop complaining. I spend most of my vacation days on a snowboard and I know what -50C feels like, You freezing cold bastards have my utmost sympathy.

Yeah, I grabbed a similar screenshot for Southern Alberta yesterday:

That's what my childhood memories are made of -- spending 45 minutes getting your snowsuit and all the other gear on. Of course you have to have snow to play in, and Southern Alberta got that too, in just a few hours on Monday. Old-fashioned prairie blizzard:

I think it was 2 years ago we hit an annual high of 120 or something, and had one day that got to 16 below (Farenhiet).
That year sucked.

Here in Ottawa it was -4C today and I was out in jeans and a t-shirt for about 10 minutes. I was too lazy to put on the jacket.

The one really annoying thing about Ottawa is that it has some big temperature swings. Be -15C one day and +4C & raining the next day. All I ask is that is stay below -1C so the outdoor rinks can get nice and frozen and the hills can make snow. Is that too much to ask being in Canada?

I ran out to my shed in my jeans and shirt in this; it's about 40 feet.
Frigging mistake, my nips were cutting glass by the time I got inside, and I couldn't feel my face well

Geez, I'm just a Vancouver wimp. 15 minutes outside in -4c jumper cabling someone's car and my face was already feeling numb.

Change that to 30F and this Vermonter is right in with you.

Ahhh, don't feel bad. You have a lot more humidity to contend with and it makes it feel much colder then it is. Here in nomansland the humidity is usually pretty low (but we do have some wicked winds).

Still got a chuckle out of this though this morning:

We do here in Timmins!! I'm sure a good chunk of Canada from Calgary to Quebec gets such wonderful weather,

I have enough Finn in my blood that the cold here (-8C) doesn't bother me much... in fact, I've been wearing socks and sandals. In fact I hope we have a good cold winter so maybe a lot of the biting insects are killed off; last two winters were pretty balmy and we had a bumper crop of mosquitoes last summer.

We're at -5C (15F) at the moment. I'm 1/2 Swedish ancestry and have lived here for 39 years, and I still don't care for winter. I like the seasonal changes and a bit of snow, but not the bitter cold.

I remember one Sunday as a kid when it was -30F(-34C) and windchill was close to -80F (-62C) and we still went to church. Like 12 people showed up total. We also had 3 days of over 100F(38C) at O'hare airport in 2012. So I guess we have a pretty good range here too. Yet I have no desire to move any further north. :)

Okay, last winter was my first living in Chicagoland and it definitely was a mild one (grew up in Indianapolis). This morning was 3F (-16C), now it's 8F, but feels like -9F (-22C). Hoping January doesn't get colder, but I'll still be stocking up on warm things to wear.
On second thought, let's not go to TechReport. It's infested by crypto bull****.
