If you're willing/able to share which tabs you had open, which firefox extensions you use, and your OS, I'd be happy to try to replicate the issue. The builds for Chrome and Firefox are heavily instrumented, so the chances of a general performance regression are extremely low. But there's also about a million aspects that can affect perceived speed & responsivenes. And there's always edge cases - it's always possible you use a particular web site or extension that FF 26 doesn't handle well.
P.S. - I'm a web developer who contributes to the Chrome and Firefox DevTools. So I'm always on the lookout for funky bugs.
