Pretty beefy stuff. I hope that the gameplay has improved notably alongside the "next gen" advances in technology that they are pumping into this game, since modern COD is awful.

COD4 is still an excellent game with promod because it's pure raw competitively balanced gameplay with none of the derp-ass gimmicks that they have flooded the franchise with since.

Something in that vein with updated visuals would tickle my fancy. Mod tools are a must.

Yeah, I don't see 'next-gen' here- I just see the developers going nuts over the assets, which is kind of cool, except no mention of VRAM usage- meaning that the visuals themselves may not be terribly improved, just that the game is fricking massive.

I guess it all comes down to if you believe the new consoles deserve the title of "next-gen" for not even catching up to the mid-range.

If it 'requires 50' it probably uses 35. Like Rage 'required 30' and used 20 or sommat.

I think you'll find the minimum GPU is an NV 550ti and AMD 5870. Of course NV are going to say a 780 recommended they're desperate to ship some of these cards PDQ. I can't see the point in releasing games that 99% of punters can't even play at reasonable resolutions and settings AKA Crysis 1, 2 & 3.

Next Gen game = designed for PS4 and XBone.
With GTX780 as the recommended... I don't think so...

So I finally tried to boot up and play COD MW 3 MP... I know sorta behind the curve. WOW! that game looks HORRIBLE. I mean firstly their is a glitch were in you have to use special settings to get the game to display above its native 1080i resolution(NO JOKE GOOGLE IT!) yeah it natively displays in 1080i aka 720p aka crap regardless of the res you set your display to in the game unless you turn another image quality tab to auot or something. Basically to get your resolution the textures have to faceplant.

Then there is the geometry... this game looks worse that MW1!!!

I thought the SP looked iffy but this was simply unacceptable.

MW3, it shows that the studio was gutted during development everywhere!

I love treyarch but I'm afraid to try ghost.

I can only speak for Black Ops 2 so far, and it worked pretty decently.

I skipped everything between MW1 and that. BO2 looks decent. Not especially high res assets, but definitely better than MW1.

I don't know when/if I'll get Ghosts. It'll probably happen eventually.

Black opps 1 looked better than MW3... Heck MW1 looks better than MW3 with these graphics issues and you can't really resolve them is the real WTF. How could they let that glitch persist. MW3 is the worst COD since #3

COD 4 MW through Ghost are all the same engine.

EDIT: That means several things, firstly that we have 7 games running the same tech. Secondly that there is no reason to have issues with HD PC monitors...

Same base engine doesn't mean same tech. For the most obvious examples Black Ops 2 was the first to do DX11 (and cut DX9,) Ghosts was the first to be 64 bit only.

Those more or less effect the engines ability to unlock resources in the machine than fundamentally changing how things work. MW3 was the first COD game to not scale resolution properly on PC... DX, or Bit doesn't really put limitations on that as no other Dx9 game I have won't display in 1600p and no other 64 bit game I own either. Actually this is the only game I own that won't display in a resolution you set it too.
