March Madness 2014

Mon Mar 03, 2014 12:03 am

I'd love to be able to announce & invite, but Yahoo seems to be waiting longer than normal this year. News as soon as Yahoo unplugs.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

I'd like in, when you get it going.

I'm doing my billion dollar challenge picks. (Only 1 in several quintillion odds!!)

I'm stuck waiting to see if my team will make it in. There's nothing like waiting until the end of the season to make a run.

I'm pretty excited for this year. Last year we were a bubble team, and ended up a #1 seed in the NIT. This year we should be a fairly high seed in the real tournament!

That'd be it. Since Tennessee, the season has been pretty exciting. I wasn't able to get a ticket to the Syracuse game (they're free through a lottery system), but the excitement around grounds for the team this year is awesome. I'm really looking forward to the rest of tournament season.

Edit: Just saw the score of the 'Cuse-GT game. That's not helpful...

I watched the 'Cuse game this past weekend. That was pretty fun. I've never been a fan of Syracuse though.

Enjoy the success. It's really fun that something as simple as basketball can bring so many people together. Basketball was huge at my college. Honestly, it even helped my grades a lot of the time.

OK, pool is created but Yahoo! is being a pain about sending invites. In case you don't get an invite:

Really? I've probably tried that many times but never once has Yahoo! told me that I was successful in my attempt.

To all: If I've spammed your inboxen, blame Yahoo! and their crappy tools.

I got my 15th invite about 4 hours after the first 14 arrived. Looks like Captain Ned is in desperate need for some friends to play with him!

Yahoo! is demanding that I authorize them to SPAM text me at least twice a week as a condition for joining the tourney pick'em. I don't think so.

My Alma Mater's team hasn't looked the part for significant chunks of their past few games, but the NCAA seeded them #1 overall. Beating Kentucky three times in one season is pretty sweet. Let's hope that the seniors and Coach Donovan can keep bringing them back to win when they lapse during the next six games.

I added mine, then immediately deleted it from my account after it let me in. Not sure if that will still get me crap sent to my phone.

Upset on the very first game eliminated my billion dollar bracket. But I am currently atop the TR standings with idchafee!

4 Games in, ESPN reports that only 5.7% of there ~11 million brackets are still perfect. Looks like Warren can breathe easy.....

I've poked around, but I can't find any setting that lets us see other pool member's brackets. Can't understand why Yahoo would change that.

The changes Yahoo has made to their fantasy stuff the past year or so have almost all been bad. Really disappointed to be honest. Football, baseball, and this Tourney stuff aren't as good as they have been in the past.

ESPN has 6 out of 11 million brackets as still perfect, 3/4 way through the 2nd round....which is .000054% still perfect. Looks like everyone's bracket is busted....
