Definitely, it will deliver around double the FPS at the same settings (presuming your CPU doesn't bottleneck it). The GTX 660 can be had for a little more, its about 20% faster but needs a lot more juice.

My son just bought one, an MSI 750 Ti, I believe. It does a nice job with Metro 2033 at 1080p at any rate.

My GTX 460 is about to meet my new 2560x1600 monitor. I'm afraid it will not be a fluid experience. Hi ho. I'll step up next month. ;)

I'm still using my 560TI and it's running like a champ. Sure I've had to reduce the eye-candy ever so slightly in the most demanding of games a bit, but considering it's age I'm very happy with how it's degrading. Waiting for that next value-laden gem to show on my radar. The 750ti is faster in a lot of areas so you should be good to go, and it's certainly a step up from the 460se variant.

If your budget is small but your PSU can handle a power-hungry card, you should look at something other than the 750Ti; The 750ti is expensive for its performance, but it's very power-efficient which is why it commands a premium for HTPC and similar scenarios where a small PSU or low noise requirements limit your buying options.

Assuming your PSU can comfortably supply 150W to a graphics card (the 460se is around that anyway) Look at a full-blown GTX660 for $180. It's going to be better performance for your money in every game, but it'll run a little hotter.
Congratulations, you've noticed that this year's signature is based on outdated internet memes; CLICK HERE NOW to experience this unforgettable phenomenon. This sentence is just filler and as irrelevant as my signature.

The EVGA GTX 750 ti SuperClocked is a fine card with a good overclock out of the gate, but since it has such a high overclock you do not have much headroom for overclocking.

For a mere $10 more you can get EVGA's 750ti FTW w/ACX cooler It comes with a over sized dual fan cooler that and a 6 pin PCI-e power connector that allows for another 35 watts to the card for high overclocks....I have seen many breaking 1400 on the core and 15-1600 on the memory.

Enjoy whatever you choose they are both great cards....just makr sure whatever card you get has 2gb of memory at least.
That was the main reason I Upgraded from dual GTX 560 TI's in SLI. The 1 gb frame buffer is just not enough anymore.

You should look at the r7 265 cards from AMD since power is not a issue. Its basically a HD7850 with some faster clocks and they are going for around 150$ but newegg is out of stock from the miners and the fact that it is a lot of video card for a little bit of money.

About $185 I believe.

Got my monitor, it is very nice. Had to use Nvidia drivers to get it dim enough though. ;)

It's a good card but if I was you I'd wait a couple of months. I have a largely unfounded suspicion that Nvidia will soon be launching a Maxwell-powered "760 Ti" which has notably more shader cores and costs around $250.

It's quite amazing really. The GTX 460 does just fine as long as I turn off most post processing. I have been playing ESO quite a bit.

http://carnagepro.com/eso/

For some pics. Keep in mind it's just the 2560x1600 doing the work. No AA, no nothin', fairly minimal textures etc. Those are untouched right from the script that converted the .BMPs, straight from the game.

If that's a hard price limit and you've decided upon NVidia, the 750Ti is a good choice. The performace/dollar is quite good and the 650 Ti Boost seems to have disappeared, it would be a slightly better choice in that price range but the difference would probably not be all that noticeable in real gameplay.

Is this one of the OSD-less Korean monitors? If so, one of the buttons should dim the backlight, but it may not be noticeable until you get near the bottom of the brightness range. I have one of the Qnix 2560x1440 monitors and it's like that. It has 30 levels of brightness (I counted), but the entire useful range is in the bottom 5. Anything above that is like staring at a light bulb.

Yeah it is. I found the brightness buttons and took it as low as it would go before I broke out Nvidia's tweaker. I am not down a lot from dimmest but I like em' dark.

An amazing thing so far. Pretty well perfect, no obvious pixels I can see, excellent colour, I usually tweak colour in all my monitors, not this one. Very pleased indeed. ESO is so fine at 2560x1600, I just wander round pretending I am a photographer, something I do in real life. ;)
