Wow I love this game. I enjoyed BF4 at first but just stopped caring. This I can see I'm gonna be playing for a long time. =)

Yeap, it's fast-paced but at the same time with elements of much slower gameplay (when you're piloting titans), small maps (so there's no need to run around for minutes seeking others) and non-stop action. And it's not made by completely brain-dead idiots at DICE so there's not many noticeable bugs, lag or piss-poor hit detection and Respawn didn't waste their time on supporting the semi-functional, buggy and absolutely redundant proprietary API. Pretty enjoyable to play on both PC and my Xbox One. The 18" statue from Collector's Edition was also a pretty nice "bonus".

I'm not even a competitive multiplayer guy in general...I mean I like it occasionally but have never been drawn in like this. :D Did play BF3 and MOH:Warfighter a while as well as some BF4. Glad I didn't buy BF4 Premium now...that's gonna sit on the digital shelf instead of my HD heh.

(My brother and I play cooperative stuff a lot when he's not in Alaska.)

I'm just the opposite, this is just a very short break from my BF4 gaming, and Premium as it was in BF3, is pretty darn good value if you either get it bundled with the game, or later on. Considering it's less then a beers worth / map-pack, I get way more enjoyment out of each pack then a single beer in the pub.

Anyone who meets the following requirements should follow my advice:
A: You want to play/are trying to play Titanfall
B: You are using a Gigabyte motherboard
C: You have Gigabyte's utilities installed
D: You have the latest Win8.1 update that rolled out a few days ago

As soon as that update came in, I started having all sorts of problems with Gigabyte's software that I wasn't having. It started with Smart Switch crashing whenever I clicked on the button for it, so I uninstalled that. However I've been having some SERIOUS issues with Titanfall dropping to 5-15 FPS as soon as I load up a game and get into the loadout selection screen. I went through every possible cause including GPU clocks, possible modem and router problems, simply rebooting my system... then I noticed that some of the settings in Gigabyte's system monitoring/overclocking utility were set to strange things. Instead of trying to weed through to the source of the problem, I just uninstalled the AppCenter and rebooted.

Problem is completely gone. Averaging 60ish FPS. So yeah, if you have a Gigabyte board and were wondering why you can't run Titanfall try uninstalling Gigabyte's software. It's not very good anyway.

Asus and MSI have some pretty good software, but yeah other than that I imagine it's all fairly abysmal. I was rather enjoying Smart Switch though. Oh well.

This game is awesome BTW. It's pretty much everything I've been wanting in an FPS: fluid and useful free running, fast paced action without the chaos of overly easy kills, solid graphics (I couldn't believe it was Source), decently sized and well thought out maps, and of course giant robots.

6v6 doesn't really get me all hot and bothered, but you guys are certainly making this game sound cool. Also, that's Source? Damn!

Well technically it's 6v6 plus a bunch of respawning AI, but they don't get in the way too much. Also you can have your titan on auto while you run around. Honestly if it was any more than six there'd be too many titans.

True. The only times I've seen matches get really unbalanced is when a team held three or more titans over the other. The time to get a new one is short enough it rarely happens.

Any of you made it to gen 2+ yet? I haven't played too much since my brother came home so still at level 44.

Lies. I've been killed by grunts that snuck up on and killed me after I took a lot of damage from killing a player. This has happened twice, I managed to hold on to my controller and not send it sailing through my TV both times.

By the way, great tip: If you have your Titan ready to fall, go rodeo another titan. When the player jumps out to shoot you, drop your titan right on top of yourself. You'll probably destroy the titan you were on and the enemy pilot in one jaw dropping, rage inducing moment. I should know, it happened to me.

Also, here are some Titanfall gameplay videos I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTA-ObpIVEw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLDbi5qqLRw (this one doesn't have sound... sorry).

I went to Gen 2. Hated the decision since most all the weapons and combos I like are level 34+ (CAR SMG to start). I probably won't go beyond Gen 2. Though, if I do, I'm saving lots of double EXP, "drop a specific titan from the start" and Amped CAR SMG burn cards for the transition.

One thing that's nice is the burn cards you get each time you hit level 50 (make sure you have room in your deck!), which includes the Titan cards you mention

ok I was 43. NOW I'm 44. hehehe

Only time grunts are a challenge are if I stop moving or am just having an off day and should stop playing anyway. Can't speak for them on consoles but they're definitely just cannon fodder on PC.

I know people will flame me for this, but I play Titanfall on PC using a controller. So my experience is on the PC.

Never said grunts were challenging either. Point of my story is that they can and will kill you if you engage them with low health.

That I do. Only really run into issues against really good players that are incredibly mobile when hitting with a mouse would be hard too, and I try to keep encounters at mid to close range. No sniping or long range rifle attacks for me. For Titan work, I don't think there'd be too much difference.
