Looking for new monitor, thoughts on 30" Nixeus VUE?

Sat Apr 05, 2014 5:55 pm

I'm in the market for a new monitor to replace my BenQ FP241W, and was wondering if anyone has had experience with the Nixeus VUE 30"?

It's on sale this weekend at NCIX for $650, and seems to fit my goal of getting the largest possible 16:10 monitor with north american customer support for ~$700. I'm going to be using this for office and general gaming.

My primary concern here is with ghosting, as of rev2 the Nixeus display uses the same panel as the Dell U3014: the LG LM300WQ6-SLA1, and some U3014 users have complaints about ghosting. At the same time though it seems that many of these users are photo/video editors who care about perfect motion and colour, and I don't need to be that picky.

I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with this monitor, especially the second revision from late 2013 onward which uses the newer panel. If you do have some experience with this monitor, even the first revision, i'd really appreciate your input.

any thoughts? Thanks for your time.

I bought this:

for $500 Can in my hands.

Pleased, it's just a 70Hz max thing but cheap, and runs Elder Scrolls Online very well.

Sweet, good colours, and plays ESO so well, with my new GTX 780..

hmm, while I appreciate I can get a Korean panel for quite a bit of a discount, i'm worried about having no recourse if something goes wrong the monitor, realistically I can't ship the thing back to south korea. Still, at almost half the price it certainly isn't impossible for me to consider a Koran display.

How's the response time and ghosting on that monitor? i'd imagine with just one input the input lag would be minimal

edit: also, is the product truly tax/shipping charge free? that seems too good to be true.

Supposed to be 6ms or so but I have not played a game that would stress it. ESO is nice but not Crysis.

Was just about exactly $500 after the money exchange, Canadian is not worth much these days, and DHL fee of about $40 and tax.
