Question about stock fans on a HAF 912 case....

Sun Apr 06, 2014 11:12 am

I was wondering if the stock fans on the HAF 912 case run at variable speeds with a motherboard that supports fan speed adjustments?

The mobo I'm looking at is the Asus Maximus VI Hero Z87 and it has settings to adjust fan speeds on all the fans but I can't seem to find any info on if those stock fans on the HAF case will work this way or will I need to replace them with variable speed fans.

Thanks for the help.....

Customer reviews state that the fans are 3-pin (voltage controlled) with adapters to power them from molex IDE hard-drive power connectors. Just pull off the adapters and plug the fan's 3-pin connector into your motherboard's fan controller. If you want the two front 120mm fans to run together, you can use a simple TX3 splitter.

If you do replace the original fans, go with PWM (pulse width modulation) control, which can allow the fans to spin more slowly without stalling.

Try them at full voltage 1st. My stock HAF 922 fans were whisper quiet!

The spec sheet says 17 dB at 1200 rpm. That is very quiet.
