Great looks, amazing specs, awesome price!

This thing could bring me back to Android environment. Thoughts?

Will it run on Verizon Wireless (who still boycotts the Nexus phones)?
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

No. http://oneplus.net/one#specifications

Sorry, but 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm is too big for me. I have big hands too, I just don't like massive phones.

That's a negative, Ghostrider, and it's a damn shame. It doesn't support the 3G CDMA that Verizon uses and it only has LTE bands 4/7/17/38/40. While Verizon does use band 4, their LTE workhorse is band 13. The phone also lacks all of the LTE bands that Sprint uses.
Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work, you can always hit them with it.

Yes.

Fido uses GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+ at 850 MHz and 1900 MHz and LTE at 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz.

LTE 2600 = Band 7
LTE 2100 = Band 1

One+One specs:

GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/4/7/17/38/40

Should not be calling this the "New Android Flagship"... flagship is still Google Nexus.

I like the work this start-up is doing and like that they are addressing all the common first world complaints in a phone (price, battery size/life, etc)

definitely worth watching as I look at replacing my phone this fall.

Depends on what your definition of "flagship" is. A specs leader, performance leader, or development leader?
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

Since I'm rocking a Nexus 5, I haven't bothered doing much "jailbreaking" other than a basic root.

However, I overwhelmingly approved of CyanogenMod (and later SuperNexus) when I had a nasty, bloaty Touchwiz phone. If this is the "official CM phone" they've done well.
Oppo make this handset (apparently the OnePlus founder was a VP at Oppo) and until last year I'd never heard of them - a little like Huawei appeared out of nowhere in 2008 for us in Europe. I've since seen a couple of Oppo handsets and they're top-notch, robust and expensive feeling things.

The problem is that we're halfway towards a new Nexus already and the Nexus5 ain't no slouch. I've found nothing on the market than can slow it down, so adding MORE power is going to be superficial until we have some apps/software that can really tax it.
Congratulations, you've noticed that this year's signature is based on outdated internet memes; CLICK HERE NOW to experience this unforgettable phenomenon. This sentence is just filler and as irrelevant as my signature.

Assuming Google keeps making new ones. The Nexus line is just Google's way to push the industry; as soon as they no longer see any strategic value to it, they'll shut it down.

Tempted to get the 64gb one, would sell my relatively new Nexus 5 to my studio as a QA device to recoup the cost and still have access to it 8)

Very impressive video. I am probably going to get one.

I've been on the look out for a cheap unlocked phone - and right now my only option is the Nexus5 - which I have and I am not a big fan.

There is the Moto X and Moto G (HSPA 3G only but is only $180) for Android and the Lumia 635 LTE Windows phone, too. I'm really excited about all of the less expensive unlocked phones coming out for ~<$300. Maybe I can finally replace my Galaxy Nexus.

I love my wood-back (walnut) Moto X. Perfect size, nice screen, all animations are smooth. Perfectly snappy. Only downsides is that it doesn't have the greatest battery life (although mine lasts the whole day under moderate-heavy use) and voices sound electronic/fake during calls. Not a big deal, its not muffled or anything, just caught my attention. Got mine for free after $50 MIR at Verizon (of course those thieves charged me $30 upgrade fee)

What I really want to see is a high-spec phone with a smaller size than these 4+ inch monsters. Sony's new compact Xperia looks nice but it doesn't seem to be available in the US.

Moto X is really Nexus4 class hardware. It doesn't compete with the Nexus5. Lumias are great, but the OS is severely restricting.

This device is cheap, competes with the S5 and M8.

Now if only they stop asking me to smash my existing phone.

You should have replaced your GNex when they were blowing out the Nexus 4 for $199/$249 last fall. A far superior device to any other sub-$300 phone. Nexus 5 is a good choice, too, at $350.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

The N4 is a very good phone for the price but the screen is its Achilles' heel--the thin glass breaks easily and due to its electronic configuration a screen replacement costs as much as a new phone. At least they're getting cheap now that the N4 is old news--I've had a dead one sitting on a shelf for about a year, it'd be nice to get it going again.

Trust me, I tried to buy the 4 but the site didn't work with my iPad. I got busy and they sold out later on the next day. :x I try to remind myself that I'm blessed to have a G Nexus to upgrade from, but these newer, cheaper, more powerful, greater functionality phones make that difficult.

I was a staunch defender of larger form factors when handsets broke the 4.5" barrier, and even as they crept up to 5", with the accompanied slimming of bezels and increased sleekness. But 5.5" hmm. That is starting to get a tad large for a phone. I've seen plenty of Galaxy Notes, which I find a bit too large as a phone, and I don't think their much, if any, larger, depending on the version. And the fact that this phone doesn't seem to support all network frequencies is a bit of a downer too.

Otherwise, looks like a great phone. Just make it a bit smaller, and able to run on any network.

I'm keeping my eye on the next nexus coming out in the fall. Supposed to be a bit of a higher-end offering than the Nexus 5 from what I've heard.
