3440x1440... wow. What have I missed in monitorworld?

As an aside, do 21:9 Korean/cheaper alternatives exist? I've been eying those <$300 1440p monitors for some time now.

The 21:9 format is pretty new and I have yet to see a Korean knockoff.

I am pretty positive LG makes all the 21:9 panels...even for dells 21:9 monitors.

I've seen 21:9 around for a bit as either a 900p or 1080p variant, but they were all exorbitantly priced.

@vargis14: Now that you mention it, I think you're right about LG being the only manufacturer for 21:9 panels. I know there are only a handful of panel OEMs, and I haven't seen anyone produce a desktop-sized 21:9 except LG. I know Toshiba had that 21:9 laptop (14" 768p), I think Chi Mei made that one.

You know, at first I saw 21:9 monitors and thought "no way that'd be useful" but man...I could stick a 1600x1200 VM window to the side and still have plenty of room on those 1440p displays. Hmmm...
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

I look at them like the best gaming monitor you can get...all that peripheral vision like having 2 monitors side by side with no bezel.
Also I imagine for work related tasks they would come in handy also...plenty of screen real estate.

Curved might be nice but might distort the image...Also the color reproduction is suposed to be great from what I have read.

Going to have to keep an eye on this. This could replace both of my current monitors and have more pixels to boot.

Here's an Amazon link. Showing pre-order there at full list of $999:

If you could get it with G-Sync, and if it's suitable both for gaming with low input lag and for color work with uniform brightness and color, and can be properly calibrated to ARGB, I'd definitely be happy with it.

Still, the one thing I find missing with my 30" 2560x1600 for BF4 is resolution; my vision exceeds what the panel is able to put out. Though I can't really complain about it too much, since I normally outsnipe most players with just a 4x already :D.

Is it "fair" that your 2560x1600 IPS LCD monitor makes your rifle scope better than that of someone playing on a nasty low-res TN LCD monitor?

I am ready to rob a bank with a water gun to get one of these 34" 3440-1440 panels.....gosh I want one so bad!!!!!!!

I would move my Gaming rig back into the spare room on my glass desk with the elevated monitor stand where it belongs instead of it being hooked up to this huge TV. It is a great TV do not get me wrong. But 3440-1440 resolution is awesome and 34" is the perfect size to sit 1.5 ft away from its beauty.

I could see myself getting into some serious racing or flying again, I miss setting up the cars experimenting with setups and above all else kicking some butt:) When it comes to combat flight tactics and racing it is like riding a bike you never forget. But for FPS games I lost the edge I used to have in the last 8 + years. Now I play like a newbie and I am lucky to get a 1-1 kill ratio. Plus I do not play enough to get the good guns so I have to kill someone to get one then I have it for 10 seconds all happy ...then I get killed:)

Is it fair that I can see a mat from ridiculous distances just because I have a 2560x1600 IPS display and GTX 780 with the draw distance maxxed in the game?
