I know this is 24" instead of 27, but for the money it's the best value you can get a 144hz gaming monitor.
ASUS VG248QE $280
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-ProductBenQ also has some nice 144hz screens for gaming, 24 and 27 inch, but they are a bit more expensive. They have some useful features for multiplayer FPS, like Black Equalizer to boost gamma at the cost of colour accuracy, allowing you to see opponents hiding in dark corners easily. I like to call it my camper radar
I have an XL2420T from 2 years ago and it is very nice for competitive FPS. 120hz is silky smooth awesomeness.
BenQ XL2411Z 144Hz 24" 1080p $280
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-ProductBenQ XL2420Z 144Hz 24" 1080p $369 (same panel as the $279 XL2411Z, but with a more "1337" looking monitor stand, S-switch for navigating the OSD, more inputs, and blue light reduction to reduce eye strain. Not sure if it justifies the extra $90 for just a different aesthetic and a couple of extra inputs when all of the other features are available on the 11Z)
