Fri Jul 11, 2014 1:48 am

Hello everyone,

The Catalyst 14.7 Release Candidate Driver for Windows OS is now available for download.

Note - This version of the driver includes the fix for the 60Hz flickering exhibited by the AOC U2868PQU panel on certain AMD Radeon graphics cards.

Please don’t forget to read the Feature Highlights and the Known Issues sections to learn more about this version of the driver; and use the Issue Reporting Form to report any bugs – Thank you!

-Starting with AMD Catalyst™ 14.6 Beta, AMD will no longer support Windows 8.0 (and the WDDM 1.2 driver)
-Windows 8.0 users should upgrade (for free) to Windows 8.1 to take advantage of the new features found in the AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC driver
-AMD Catalyst 14.4 will remain available for users who wish to remain on Windows 8
-A future AMD Catalyst release will allow for the WDDM 1.1 (Windows 7 driver) to be installed under Windows 8.0 for those users unable to upgrade to Windows 8.1

Oo that is surprising that win 8 will no longer be supported its as if Microsoft had something to do with this decision

I don't think AMD needed any encouragement from Microsoft to drop support for 8.0

Seriously a fix for a single product and brand that I would guess that <1% of all AMD owners probably have? That just blows my mind. /shrug

14.6 missed the deadline, so it's time for a name change. Still no word on OpenGL improvements for Wolfenstein: The New Order, either. Criminy.
Science: Core i9 7940x, 64 gigs RAM, Vega FE, Xubuntu 20.04
Work: Ryzen 5 3600, 32 gigs RAM, Radeon RX 580, Win10 Pro
Tinker: Core i5 2400, 8 gigs RAM, Radeon R9 280x, Xubuntu 20.04 + MS-DOS 7.10

Holy ****! Someone bought Wolfenstein? Do you work for the distributor or something? I kid, but it's got to be the worst reviewed triple-A title this year.

I installed 14.7 last night, seems to work well so far in BF4 (W/mantle). I don't really like any other FPS right now so that's the only one I tried.

They did, they released 8.1 as a free upgrade.
Meow.

I guess it must have gotten reported.

Anyone having issues with the screen going blank after a driver installation despite rebooting, and could only be fixed by booting into safe mode and doing a system restore?

Almost every driver update after Catalyst 13.4 won't work on my N61Jq laptop (ATi Mobility 5730m). Oh well, I'll be replacing that 4 years old laptop anyways during July-August.

Hyperbole much? It's currently better reviewed than Watch Dogs... Wofenstein actually looks decent if you are nostalgic for the series and don't mind linear FPS campaigns.

Does this fix the texture oddness in Grid:Autosport? None of the textures work correctly, no matter what mode, LOD, display res I select.

The only "fix" was to get the 4K texture pack, and THEN it started working fine.

Well I've reported about a dozen things and yet they seem to not fix them.

I'm looking at you Overdrive that spontaneously quits working.
