AMD, through our local community rep, Warsam71, has graciously offerred a Sapphire Toxic R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 to give away as a "Thank You" to active forum members. For reference, here is a link to The Egg.. Submitting an entry is quite easy. No creative poetry, no quizes, just post a picture in this thread of the home for card should you win and a note about what it would be replacing. Entries will be accepted from August 9th through August 24th. The winner will be announced on August 25th.





And now the specific rules for this give away:

1) Entry must be posted in this thread between 00:00 EDT August 11th and 24:00 EDT August 24th to be valid.
2) Winner will be picked at random from valid entries and will be announced on Augest 25th.
3) One entry per person.
4) Open to North American residents only.
5) Staff of The Tech Report and moderators of The Tech Report Forums are not eligable.
6) Prior to entry submission, the participant must have at least 100 posts in the TR forums and at least one post in the Graphics sub-forum.
7) Participant must be 18 years of age, or older.

No purchase is necessary. This giveaway is void where prohibited by law. TR and AMD are not responsible for any taxes on the prizes, damage in shipping, damage caused by using the prizes with other products, or health issues that may result from prolonged use of the prizes.

I would like to say thanks to Warsam71 & AMD for supplying the card for the giveaway!

I'd enter myself but I just recently won a large upgrade to my GTX 480, so others in need can have a shot at this one.

If only I could qualify...

I'd use this puppy to replace a 7750.

I would throw this into my Steam machine build and replace the hand-me-down Sapphire 5770 that is in there now.

This would be going into a new system that I'm building... unfortunately, I haven't been able to afford a new graphics card yet <sigh>. It would be replacing a NVidia GTX260...

I'd use it to replace my 7870, which would then replace my wife's 6870.

This will go into my Daughters box who has decided that watching a movie on mute while watching a tv show not on mute while playing WoW and monitoring FB on three different monitors is perfectly normal...

I have Sapphire R9 - 270 in my rig, and had a hard time running Titanfall. Looks like I will need the GPU to compliment
my Asus Sabertooth Formula Z and AMD 8350 running at 4.6 GHZ. The GPU I have is the main slowdown of my system.

I'd replace my aging 6870 so I could also upgrade to higher than 1680x1050 resolution and still play at high or better settings.

This is my wife's Haswell-based system. It'll be a nice upgrade over the GTX 660 (which itself is fine, but whatevs).

What would this be replacing? Nothing! I am going to help my little brother build his first gaming pc but he is on quite a strict budget. This would be quite the blessing for him.

The new home is empty right now because I just got in the Corsair 300R and a couple of 120mm fans yesterday so I haven't had a chance to move everything over from the old home which is/was an Inwin q500n



As for the card it would be replacing. That would be a MSI 650 TI Power Edition that I just got back from MSI after an RMA due to the fan spinning up at boot and then immediately stopping. Luckily MSI fixed it up promptly and I got it back in about a week from when I sent it.
