Hey all,
I built a PC for my friend, but it has been blue screening. Runs beautifully most of the time, and the BSODs appear seemingly at random.
What makes this really hard to troubleshoot is the number of different errors we get..
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (Ntfs.sys)
BAD_POOL_HEADER
NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
I have used Memtest to test the RAM, with no errors.
I've tested the Samsung SSD boot drive using Samsung Magician, and Seatools for both the SSD and the WD Green Data drive. Neither report any issues in any of the tests.
The one thing I haven't tried is a fresh install of Windows 8, however these errors appeared more or less immediately after installing the operating system (it's a legit copy and no extra software installed - with latest drivers).
I'm wondering if it's either..
- The Motherboard (memory controller or SATA controller)
- BIOS settings.
Any suggestions? Thank you!
Rhys
