Anyone looking at Project Eternity

I'm tempted for a good old-school RPG..

Planetary Annihilation is now funded (and then some....) if you want to update the first post.

I can't wait; TA and SupCom were epic!
Congratulations, you've noticed that this year's signature is based on outdated internet memes; CLICK HERE NOW to experience this unforgettable phenomenon. This sentence is just filler and as irrelevant as my signature.

I got in for $20. I wish I could afford some of the higher tiers, like getting a cloth map, but they're really high.

Project Eternity looks great. They've added a whole lot of details about their world and about the game in the past few updates as well as a bunch of stuff to the reward tiers. They've also added a lot of stretch goals. I really want to see the big city at $3.5M, though it looks kind of doubtful that it'll get that far (it's only at $2.67M right now and there are only 5 days left).

2013 - The year of kickstarter games. Here's hoping they deliver on promises.

Wishing I owned kickstarter right now too... 5% of several dozen multi-million dollar funding efforts, yowza.

What what what ?!?!??! kickstarted get 5% of the money I give to developers?
I also see that amazon get a 5% cut... this is insane.

I can see that making sense for maybe up to 10,000 funding. But this should be a flat rate service. $40 a month to host your project. Not $850,000 like in the case of OUYA !

I'm still picking myself off the floor on that one...

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bla ... video-game

Ars Magica is a very flexible game where generally magi are in a class of their own, capable of doing if not anything then at least get close.
With the magic system, you can just as well have a character whose main attack spell involves dropping 16t weights on top of their enemies, have nearby trees start smacking them around, bury them in a cascade of skulls, and well, there´s a lot of ways of doing things.

It´s a fun RPG that can be played as a strategy game or purely action. The looks from the people wanting to do the computer game is that it could be something really neat, and since it would include a sourcebook on House Diedne, i totally want that. :P

Planetary Annihilation got funded and they have the reward site up now...I think you can get a key (including beta keys) even if you didn't back earlier.

I could be wrong. I'll have to check when I get home, but it looks well on its way.
On second thought, let's not go to TechReport. It's infested by crypto bull****.

Forsaken Fortress looks really good, will be watching it.

I came here to post a link to ROAM which looks to be as close to "my" zombie game as anything out there so far. Dead State, Project Zomboid, Day Z all get parts of it right but nothing has has it all yet. Color me excited and hopeful.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/redthread/dreamfall-chapters-the-longest-journey

I was so, very happy, recently, when I heard that development on this game, had started. And now, as of yesterday evening, the kickstarter campaign is alive and rolling! I've not been this happy about the future release of a game, in a very long time. Probably, not since I had heard they were creating Dreamfall.

I have always been such a HUGE fan of The Longest Journey and wanted to spread the JOYOUS news, to all the folk here, that enjoyed the game and story, as well!

I'm getting more excited about Wasteland...they have the first gameplay video up. It looked really cool. A deep, well-described world with lots of dialogue and combat options, skill based, etc.

Personally, given how Garriott's last game crashed and burned in the most spectacular fashion possible I'd be leery to jump on board unless/until he demonstrates he can still deliver the goods.

I've contributed to Torment: Tides of Numenera

Reuniting the original Planescape: Torment developers (Brian Fargo, Chris McComb, Mark Morgan) and Monte Cook, it needs another 400k to snag Chris Avellone (lead designer on Planescape: Torment).

$45 gets you both Torment and Wasteland 2, pretty good deal.

Tabula Rasa, a sci-fi MMO which ate up nearly ten years and $100 million in development and only lasted about nine months before the plug was pulled and Garriott sued the publisher for firing him during his company-sponsored space flight. It's one of the best epic fails the game industry has given us, right up there with boot.ini and the Duke.

Yeah sadly after the brilliance of Ultima 7, Ultima 8 and 9 were a large meh. He hasn't been able to make a good game since....which makes me sad as Ultima 4 was one of the games that made me an RPG gamer.

:( well that's unfortunate.. I started out on Ulitma VI, and really enjoyed VI and VII... I didn't know that Garriott was involved with Tabula Rasa.. I thought that was an interesting concept, but poorly executed..

Yeah after Ultima 7 garriot became more and more removed from actually making games and got caught up in other stuff so his later Ultima games suffered. Tabula rasa reeked of failure even when it was still in development...just a stone cold boondoggle. It would be nice if he could bring back the ultima magic, but I think those days are long gone and cant be brought back.

Well only a year late from the original release date, but at least they used the time to make it batter and didn't rush out a turd. Looking forward to playing it, hope it was worth the wait. Then its torment and witcher 3 to look forward to.

Ooh, thanks for the reminder. I had redeemed the Steam code a long time ago but kinda lost track of the game. Got it downloading now.
