VIA EPIA Stuff

Thu Nov 13, 2003 8:44 am

So is anyone using this platform for there SFF systems? I'm looking at building a HTPC and from what I can tell this is the best thing for me for the cost. Again though the case is an issue. Seems there either really expensive cause there Alu, or there really freakin ugly. Any suggestions out there for a nice mini-itx case? If anyone has one of these units how's the TV-out quality?

They're ok systems. Running at only 1GHz, they're effective folding boxen, and small quiet workstations that would be great for office environments, but won't be good as a powerhorse for Graphics or Processor-intensive applications.

I have 4 that I installed into a house, EPIA M10000 boards with the Casetronic 2699R cases. They are quite adequate, quiet as heck and work perfectly for their application. And the TV output is top-notch. I can run at 800x600 on a big screen TV and actually read web pages from the couch :)
No wonder television's a medium. It's so seldom rare or well done. -Mighty Mouse
