Anyone else here into scientific computing?

Topic says it all I guess. Anyone else do any sort of scientific computing programming? Computational mechanics, complex simulations, stuff of that sort.

Mostly RF circuit simulations, if that counts. Very computationally heavy.

Yeah, 'tis a hobby of mine - along with rocket science and brain surgery...
Isn't having a smoking section in a restaurant
like having a peeing section in a swimming pool?

I worked at Fermilab for about 5 years. I didn't do the programming of the actual scientific algorithms, but worked on some of the supporting tools and libraries. Also wrote most of the hardware diagnostics for a custom-built massively parallel supercomputer they had there about 10 years ago.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

I work on flow rate and pressure drop simulation for compressible fluids in piping networks (aka flare systems). In terms of what's being modeled, it's not all that complex, but actually analyzing and calculating it is very tricky.

At work I sometimes mess around with some International Space Station simulations...don't get too much of the time as it is not the primary part of my job but it does help me do my job.
