It would be my Palm IIIx, but it's too durn big. The Palm V and it's ilk are the right size, but I know the screen would be destroyed in less than a month. What I really need is something the size of Compaq's Itsy with a protective cover over the screen.

Yeah, but it makes the V just as thick as the III. The metal Handspring looks promising, but it's not there just yet.

I use printer laminate sheets for screen protection, cut them to size and you're good to go. Cheap, too, and after a year and a half my Visor Deluxe's screen looks like new.

Actually I'm thinking more along the lines of keeping the screen from being physically broken. I've slammed into more table corners than I like to remember and the flimsy cardboard cover that comes with the Palm V wouldn't help much for that. As far as scratching the screen, I did the stylus paper trick to "sand" the tip down and my screen still looks OK.

I played with a Visor Edge for a few weeks for an upcoming review, and it has a nice aluminum cover for the screen that flips up, trekkie style.

Rhinoskin (http://www.rhinoskin.com) makes some pretty badass protective PDA cases too, Titanium should keep that screen safe.

I have a Visor Platinum (and before that, I used to have a US Robotics Pilot 1000), but it's hardly ever in my pocket...

Why don't you put them in your shirt pocket? Pocket protectors, anyone?

Sony Clie peg-s300. Picked it up at Office Depot about 6 months ago for $99 on clearance . Real small, great stock case, 8mb+8mb mem stick, built-in battery.. It's been serving me quite well. I just wish I could find another cradle for under $60.

I had a Palm V over a year ago, but I sold it on E-Bay and purchased a Casio EM-500...that's what's in my pocket right now (besides various pieces of lint and Big Red chewing gum wrappers).
