Not 288 wide, thats too small, i think 600wide is better. It would probably fit 1024x768 pretty good. Without breaking the tables. 800 is a bit too wide. Or were you thinking bandwidth wise?
I usually format all my webimages to 600 wide anyway so. See the ones above(the tulip is a bit wider but its not the usual ones....).And somewhere below 50KB.
One thing though, dont post a bundle of images in the same post. 3 or at max 5 if there is a special reason, and not 15 variations of the same thing please. That way we keep each pach a sane amount of data to be donwloaded as each page only will take so many posts. I think it's better to post a few images a time, that way the viewers wont get the spam feeling. Also before you post. Think just a though, do i want to show these, what will they get out of viewing it. Dont be a slave to the rules, but keeping it clean is better in the long run. And we want this to be a marthon, right?

Eos 33/Elan 7 with verticalgrip. 28-135 IS USM, Sigma EX 70-200/2.8 APO HSM. Mostly using Provia and Velvia slide film together with Portra 160VC negative film. Also a roll of Fuji superia slips through once in a while.
Manfrotto 055+486rc2 tripod+head and a Gitzo monotrek 1560 monopod.

Aspiring to be in a few years. Right now im trying to build a portfolio and learning all the stuff i can, and in a year or two we are a couple of people thats aiming for starting a company doing some media stuff. Photography, Video, Articles, etc. But theres alot of work in the meantime, drivers license, building capital(both money and show off work), equipment, lights, studio, camera, getting the idea finalized and formulated, etc.
