OK, now I have to admit UTTER stupidity, but I have erased my data partition.

It was in XP, and I had a FAT 32 partition that I used disk manager to reformat to NTFS. The $64,000 question is: "Does anyone know how to help me recover from this little mishap?"

Additional info: I did a "quick" format
I haven't touched it since.

I had a friend do that recently. He had Linux on the machine and used it to repair everything. I'm not sure how this worked seeing as Linux was on the affected drive but he was using a floppy to boot from so that maybe how it worked. I'm sure the local linux Guru's could tell you how it worked.

Thanks for the help. I have decided that I can (have to) live with it... Oh, well.

There was a guy in the Storage review forums who did something similar:

I guess the question is how much is it worth to you to get the data back....
