Wow, nice shots guys. I'm glad you all kept the thread alive while I was gone.
Please resize images that are wider than 1024 pixels -- 800 would be optimal. It's a bit of a pain when the tables get broken and people have to scroll right to see text. Many LCD monitors only display 1280 pixels wide, so 1024 is actually stretching it.
My sister had a wedding last weekend and I took 600 shots. Here is one I like a lot -- not because of any technical achievement in the picture, but because it's a picture unlike the others being taken.
The professional photographers were mostly getting shots of people posting for pictures. They were great photographers, no doubt, but I thought it would be fun to get some pictures of people interacting so they could remember the most enjoyable parts of the wedding years from now.
The story behind that picture is interesting. This is her second wedding and she was relating a story about how she and her kids would often go for walks when they lived in Kentucky. In Kentucky, many people have dogs that aren't on leashes walking around their yards, so her and her kids would kid around and bark at the dogs just having a little fun.
When she started dating the groom, they went for a walk with her kids here in Wisconsin. On that walk they ran into a dog which was barking at them and, desiring to bark at it with her kids as she had so many times in the past, she growled at it. She started to explain what Jon (the groom) proceeded to do when he took the microphone and started barking in it loudly for about 15 seconds. It sounded _just_ like a dog and the whole banquet hall was laughing for about 60 seconds. I'm lucky the picture isn't blurry.[/img]
