My dualie board is on the way and I was just wondering did anyone know of any cheap "good" power supply’s or if not just your suggestions in general...thanks for the help, (spending $100 is a plain for a power supply; the board was only $200!!!)

What chips is the dualie using?

If it's XPs/MPs, you'll want a large power supply... Single XPs systems tend to eat most of a 300W, so I'd probably go for around 431W+, but that's a guestimate FWIW...

If it's a P3 dualie, then you can afford to go much lower on the power supply, but I don't know the actual figures at all, having never heard much about the power consumption of a pentium chip...

Hope this helps,

Hmmm.
An Antec PP-350X (350W) should run you about $59 online, or about $79 retail. An Antec PP-412X (400W) would be about $79 online, or $99 retail. The 350W would be sufficient for dually Durons, might be iffy for dual clawhammers. The 400W should be fine for either.

I can just recommend that you DON'T buy anything with the name deer on it. They are junk. One friend of mine when through 3 before buying a Enermax. Which has been working fine for a year and a half.

make sure you get OVER 400W .. i think AMD recommeds 430 for dual athlon XP's ... if you are buying a PS you want to use for a while... 430 minimum is a good idea. 470 or 520 might not be a bad idea.

just my opinion.
