SN25P Official Product Page up!

Mon Feb 21, 2005 12:42 pm

Come on...the day before launch and you think they wouldn't put it up? They just don't link it :D

http://global.shuttle.com/Product/Barebone/SN25P.asp

Tada!

Of course, part of me is going argh. argh. argh for the choice of the nforce4-pj instead of the nforce4-ultra.

or maybe that's a gah! Gah! :D

I still love it, I still want it...I just think shuttle's found a way to sucker me into buying a v2 or v3 version of this box too :S

[ edit]
and yes, I registered just to post that here! :D postcount++;

Thank you, thank you. I've peeked into the forums from time to time (usually following the latest humor from the folding update news)...I figured it wouldn't hurt to register and just lurk :D

Welcome to the forums!

So how big of a hole would this thing burn in one's pocket?

My guess? $425 - $450 assuming normal availability conditions, etc.

The SB95P V2, which you could call the newest P-chassis box available, runs in that range at newegg, zippzoom et al.

Also, <a href="http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.pc-success.co.jp/dir/catalog/P0116/P01160MQ094FK.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3DSN25P%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D">PC Success</a> has the box listed for 44,570 Yen. Doing a quick conversion yields about $422.35 USD.[/url]

Hehe. can you tell I've been waiting for this one? :s

What are the chances they'll put one of these NForce 4's out with an AGP slot?

Yea, it is.

I'm chomppng @ the bit for a new Shuttle.....But I want the NForce 4 AND an AGP slot.

I'm hopeful that they'll come up with something that's a cross between the SN25P and the SN95G5 for those of us with higher end AGP cards.
Probably PUI. Definitely an كافر

Tada!

i just got mine yesterday, it was around EUR 400.
Its SWEET tho 8)
im posting some pics I just took:

http://cmarino.altervista.org/SN25P/SN25P-right.jpg
http://cmarino.altervista.org/SN25P/SN25P-top.jpg

http://cmarino.altervista.org/SN25P/SN25P-graphic.jpg
http://cmarino.altervista.org/SN25P/SN25P-OCZ.jpg

Too bad i could NOT make the RAID (0) work properly.... It creates the RAID 0 array properly; Windows XP accepts the NVIDIA Drivers properly; but then Windows seems not to recognise the 2 Raptors as a single unit, and installs on a single disk  .... i spent the last 24 hours trying and trying.... :x what am i gonna do :x :x :x
Im calling Shuttle on Monday and see if they can help.
.............can anybody help btw?

Very important: this shuttle has three 3.5" bays, but the TOP FRONT one (see the pictures) is NOT SUITABLE for a hard drive: there is NO air cicrulation AT ALL and the hard drive will overheat. ESPECIALLY Raptors....it was around 90 C° (!) after TEN minutes, white the other one runs around 45-55 C°.
If you buy this computer DO NOT install a hard drive on that location. Just get rid of the 3.5" floppy drive (it's optional anyways) and put the second hard drive there.

At the beginning of Windows XP setup, when it asks if you are going to use a third-party storage device driver, you are pressing F6 (yes) and then later supplying the setup program with the drivers on a floppy when it asks for them, right?

If not, download the drivers and uncompress them to a floppy. Press F6 when the windows setup asks the above question, and use the floppy when the setup program asks for it.

But, your RAID array should first be setup properly through whatever firmware you are using.

Edit: Hmmm. I didn't realize how old your last post was. Maybe you already figured the above out?

Ya, i finally did it. The drivers in the disk supplied with the system were just TOO OLD. Basically Shuttle has been shipping computers with a drivers disk that doesnt MATCH the chipset :) lol! I believe they were drivers for the nForce3 RAID...
It seems that MANY ppl were upset (that is, everybody who tried mounting a RAID on the SN25P!) so Shuttle urgently set up a new download page in their web site :)
I dowloaded the updated drivers and now everything works.
