Unfortunately, the only PCI Express cards on the market right now are video cards, and they're all x16 cards...
Supposedly, we will in the near future see PCI Express x1 sound cards, Ethernet cards, USB/Firewire/other-I/O cards, etc. PCI Express x1 is basically going to be the replacement for regular old PCI (whereas PCI Express x16 replaces AGP). The problem with that is the "going to be" part; while there are motherboards out there with PCI Express x1 slots, there are no x1 cards on the market yet.
So right now you can't put anything in that slot. But in the future, hopefully you can put an Audigy in there, or an extra Gigabit NIC, or maybe a RAID controller, or... but not right now, yet.
