Any particulare reason why you're going with the ATA/100 drive instaed of a SATA?

Get the Windows XP Home OEM instead of the Upgrade, it shouldn't cost any more money and will cut out a dependency (having to find an old OS when installing).

Just an echo, I'd get a SATA drive as well.

Looks good. SATA as mentioned, and if you're not planning to overclock I'd bump the CPU to a 3200+ or 3500+, but otherwise fine.

If you are serious about PhotoShop work, then get another drive for scratch/pagefile. It's so cheap and may beat a faster CPU, depending on what you do.

Go with XP Pro, so when you slap a dual core CPU in there later, you can actually use both cores.

Spend $20 more and get this 19" monitor.

as i understand microsofts multicore processor licensening agreement windows xp home should support a dual core processor fine . as i understand it a processor is the physical package the processor is attached to . it has nothing to do with the number of cores . correct me if i am wrong http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/high ... .mspx#EBAA

The Dell LCD was $389 yesterday....They do a fire sale about twice a month just wait it out. You can find coupons to get that HDD for $130 if you look around. Its a little more money but i don't think you upgrade often and these are two things that are worth the extra cash.

Um...I'm not sure what you mean...well you talked about SATA are better than ATA or what did Chaintech mobo support it?

$389 vs. $329.99???? give some blood, cut some lawns, deliver newspapers. The same goes for the HDD..looking at your current system (which is pretty old) you don't upgrade often...do what you gotta do to get some extra cash because both those are well worth it.
