Is this a good deal?

Anyone want to give their opinion on this? I wasn't planning on buying new computer but this is tempting. Not to mention the fact that I swore off prebuilt computers after a pos gateway. But still...

Thread will be moved soon I bet, but I wouldn't spend $1100 on a system from tigerdirect. Build it yourself and get high quality parts. Start a thread in system builders and alot of people will help. Or visit websites that offer advice on what components to put together for a system build.

The $99, $199, $299 computers are hard to pass up, but for $1100 I'd build my own.

hell just use that as a guideline for the system you could build, but definately build it yourself, if you dont know how then just ask here and im sure 1000 people will be more than willing to explain.

You should def. be able to build for cheaper than that. Only a 6600gt for $1200. Go ahead and start a thread in SBA and I will personally configure one for you 8)

Everything in the system you linked appears off the shelf. Unable to Determine specs of power supply. It may be inefficient in worst case. Case quality looks decent. I see it comes with operating system. It does not appear to come with any other OEM software, but any other may not be necessary.

Other than the PSU concern, it doesn't look half bad. I have no idea if the price is reasonable, but it's prebuilt. :)

Just a little update. What I found interesting about the tigerdirect deal was that you could upgrade to a Athlon 64 X2 4400+ for only $50 dollars more. I went ahead and priced everything at newgegg and the total was $1253.91 (with a 4400+). I used the cheapest stuff that could be found to be fair. I guess it comes down to whether or not you want to built it yourself and have some freedom in the parts that go in it.

Thanks to everyone for offering their help with a build, but I can manage on my own decently enough. Still, it's great to know that if I have a question, I have a place to ask. I'm pretty new to the forums but I love it that there are so many people willing to help. :D

Have a friend who got one of the systemax setups from there and isnt happy with it. He at least is turning into somewhat of a geek after learning to work on it  I think its a good idea to put one together yourself..at least then you know whats in it..can upgrade later down the road with better quality parts. Not to mention it will feed your geekiness
