Sempron, that is. (what were you thinking?)
So I got my parts (sempy 3400+, Corsair ValuRAM, Gigabyte K8NS) and assembled them like a kid on christmas last night. Well, everything booted first shot (good POST, no prob), but the mobo seems to think its an unrecognized AMD processor running at 200 Mhz. Im guessing I need to flash the BIOS? Curious since the gigabyte website says the Sempy line was supported since F5, and I believe I have F11.
Has anyone used the @BIOS feature? Its supposed to be some kind of BIOS updater that runs in windows.

The Windows-based BIOS updaters work great, don't be shy, jump on in.

Yeah..they are pretty fool proof. Safer as well because of the way they save the boot blocks.

200 MHz, eh? Welcome to the mid 90's.

Isn't the 3400 the newest, 64-bit Sempron? Possible that your mobo rev was put out before the new enhanced CPU's came out.
A most unfortunate, Freudian, double entendre is that hotel named "Budget Inn."

how fast does CPU-Z think it's running? That'd be freaky, running a Sempron at 200MHz.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

With Cool 'n Quiet, my Athlon64 routinely runs at 1000 MHz during web browsing (versus 2.2 GHz under load). I would expect the Sempron 3400+ to run at 800 MHz or 1000 MHz with its minimum multiplier.
