Video card I have (AA6800G) has underclocked frequencies - 350/900 instead of 350/1000 although manufacturers site said they should have been 350/1000. After writing WDF mail to them thay just changed specifications on their home page without even bothering to reply.

Mobo from Chaintech I had was plagued with problems and died recently.

From my experience Chaintech==El Crapo

I'm sure it was frustrating as hell at the time, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh when I read that they just changed their site and didn't even reply. I would have expected them just to ignore your correspondence.

Chaintec are very hit and miss. Some of their product lines are flawless while others just don't work.

Generally they are cheap and nasty but that's not to say they're no good. I'd tend to stick with their value lines as they tend to work quite well.

I have a Chaintech Videocard (a GeForce 6600 GT) and haven't had any problems with it at all. Even the fan on it is relitivly quiet. I'm happy with it, espically since it was the cheepest of all the AGP 6600's I could find.

I've used a few different Mobo's and haven't had any major problems. They are cheap but seem to perform well. Not a lot of added features but you get what you pay for.

Thanks guys, I'm going to have to round up all my options and see if the elcheapo route works or me or not. not sure what my end goal is right now.

I was planninng on making it sort of an entertainment center and hooking up a TV tuner and get a 19 or larger screen and a good 5.1 speaker set that sort of deal so not sure yet. And really I haven't been into the game seen for a while I can't see me paying 300+ for a video card that still wont run the game at full everything... xbox sounds alittle nicer and cheaper.

anyways thats the deal.

thanks for the input!!!
