2001FP:
1600*1200=1,920,000

2005FPW:
1680*1050=1,764,000

And for a lot of us it's more desirable. As nice as widescreen might be, I'd never give up the vertical resolution to get it.

Neither would I. Wide screen is nice for movies and programs that require more horizontal space. Also some games have problems with widescreen, but when you get to 24" maybe sacrificing some isn't that bad.
