I finally ended up splurging and getting the new 15k.3 Seagate drives.. Yay! Now I won't have to upgrade for the next 5 years. I picked up a 18GB and a 36GB drive for use in my workstation, and they are so much quicker and QUIETER than my Fujitsu 10K first generation. Unbelievable. If any of you are still doing SCSI, I highly recommend these drives.. I put them in on Saturday, and so far, so good. I'll try and post benchs if anyone wants to see them, but I think Storage Review has a decent set. Off to play!

I have both first and second generation Cheetahs and I have been hugely happy with them. I'm even happier with them now that I have my workstation located in an adjoining room, leaving me in almost tomb-like silence. Absolutely quiet computing is rather startling at first but definately must be experienced.
