I have lotsa pics from all angles, plus a few other prints that were not as clear. No cast though as I simply didn't have the time. I have a feeling this one will be seen for legit soon as it is around some more populated areas and hunting season starts soon.

This could explain the strange lack of deer in my immediate area. If they smell a predator like that, they leave. Normally you have to elbow the deer out of the way to leave for work, but I haven't seen a one in the past three weeks.

I took this last October at the Deftones 2004 Tour, with Dredg opening at the Norva in Norfolk, VA.

Nice. If you edit that shot by rotating it slightly to the left to make the horizontal lines perfectly horizontal, that'll be an even more awesome shot.

One of the first shots out of the 24-105 IS USM lense i got. Its kindof a worst case scenario. High ISO, close to the near limit, handheld. AdobeRGB straight out of the camera and only scaled in paint(revolting, i know, but i dont have anything better at work). Still, if this is worst case, i cant wait to see the best-case. :P

javadog, that picture of the aquarium looks like a screenshot of a game more than a picture. How did you do that? (it's the chain that looks rendered)

FireGryphon wrote:
The chain does look rendered, but the whole ship looks like it has that 3DMark2005 glow to it. The picture is a bit blurry, so it looks ethereal.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and it's very well done.

The original picture was run through a Photoshop filter (NIK Color Efex) to get that look.

I generally don't get too upset about spiders, bugs and the like... but centipedes creep me out. Whenever I find one of these critters in my house (like this one, which I caught scurrying across the carpet a few minutes ago), they get flushed:

You've gotta admit, that's one bizarre looking bug! :o

My first attempt at a transparent LCD. It wasn't that blue in person, but I noticed it in the pic on the cam's preview.

Background grabbed with a CP Technologies CP-MPC-01 Mini Flex Cam, sitting behind the laptop's LCD. Makes things tricky. 352x288 max resolution.

Foreground... well, the EXIF info is there :P

My cat sleeping. Same EXIF as the transparent LCD.

I got an interesting screen-capture question for you photogeeks out there...

What I need is a way to screen-capture the output of a website that
exceeds pixel lengths beyond what the normal screen dimensions are
maxed out as... ie: the webpage loads up, and you have the scrollbars
going up and down as well as side to side. It's not a matter of right click
file save as... It's not saving just a graphic.

Is there a solution for this? Because alt + prtsc doesnt work.

Lemme know, k?

Instead of ALT-Printscreen - jsut press printscreen.
Then paste that into you graphics program. It will paste the entire windows desktop there. ALT-Printscreen only captures the active window.

Or get a program that is scroll capable like hypersnap. Then you can get a whole page, even if it scrolles down 6 screenlengths.

AWESOME! thank you aphasia, that was exactly what i was looking for:

http://www.hyperionics.com/hsdx/index.asp

Auto-scrolls and concurrently captures long web pages and other. documents, enabling it to grab more than is visible on the screen.

i think frobozz misunderstood what i was asking about...

pete_roth: I've seen things in here that have been touched up in that way, so I'd say fair game.

Touched up photos are fine. Professional photographers touch up photos, even when they shoot film. Even Ansel Adams used to get to the dark room and decide how best to develop his world famous pictures.

Excessive editing, like adding things or taking things away from the picture is too much editing for this thread. If you start editing like that, the picture becomes a faux creation, not a photograph.

danny e., those are some nice pics. I especially like the pic with the bumble bee. Excellent detail.

Still, i wouldnt say composites are anything bad for this thread either, as long as the basis is photography.

Nifty. I assume you use a tripod there for the camera?

Yeah. Light from a pair of building lamps is pretty weak compared to flashes, so tripod is a must, even with image stabilzation in the lenses. The clamps on the back edge hold the papers, so i have switchable backgrounds pretty easily too.
