Hello everyone,

I would like some advice on a SFF build project.

I'm looking at building a gaming rig around the AMD 3000 939. I would like to reuse the HD, graphics card, and memory from the PC-1 machine in my sig to save $.

The first question is, will I be able to reinstall XP in the new build? Or will XP decide this is a new PC and I need to buy another copy?

Can anyone recommend a barebones system to use that will let us do this project for less than $500?

It's for my son and his main games now are World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Half Life 2 and Counterstrike Source.

Windows will be fine, just dont run it on the 2 machines. MS are normally ok with swapping components, but you may need to call them (all this is assuming your not using an OEM version).

Your main SFF choices are
1) SN95G5v3, which lets you reuse all your existing components.
2) ST20G5 which as onboard graphics (about the same as a 9600SE) but a PCIe slot for future graphics upgrades.

I've had no problems with my machine and its simliar to what you are going to setup.
